Worship... The Heart of St. Gabriel's
Pentecost refers to the coming of the Holy Spirit to earth on the day of Pentecost described in Acts 2:1. It is the fulfillment of several promises Jesus gave in the Gospel of John (chapters 14, 15, and 16) and in the first chapter of Acts concerning the return of the Holy Spirit. In Acts, Jesus says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” On this day, the Holy Spirit filled the disciples and they began to preach the Gospel to all present, to all nations and in many different tongues.
At Pentecost, the Body of Christ is drawn together from all peoples, Jew and Gentile, and given life by the Holy Spirit. It began the building and sending out of the Church into all the world. This story unfolds throughout the New Testament book of Acts.
Join us this weekend Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th to celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost!
A Service For Everyone
Life at St. Gabriel’s is centered in worship. We come together for services on Saturdays and Sundays to renew our commitment to Jesus Christ and to listen, learning what God has in store for us. There is a service for everyone here at St. Gabriel’s, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
This service is the largest attended. We have the full choir with processional with “all the bells and whistles”. Coffee hour immediately following.
St. Gabriel’s has been recently featured on Florida Frontiers TV, a part of the Florida Historical Society.
This film is a historical look at the rich history of Carpenter Gothic churches throughout the state of Florida. Enjoy a trip through the past as well as an appearance from our very own church historian!
